Dean Adam Curtis
Dean Adams Curtis takes care of SMERC operations. He has also been an instructor for UCLA Extension, where he has taught various courses in the Global Sustainability Certificate Program. In addition, Dean served as a technical operations supervisor for a satellite and fiber television transmission center of a France Telecom subsidiary. Dean earned his Master of Arts degree in Organizational Management from Antioch University, and he is a LEED AP of the U.S. Green Building Council. Dean has also created various websites focused on ideas for a sustainable future, from green family cars to a green interstate system.

Song Seto is the fund manager for the SMERC team. Song has completed a rotation in finance and operations at David Geffen School of Medicine and Anderson School of Management, with 6 years at UCLA; she has acquired a comprehensive understanding of UCLA business operations. At SMERC, she manages all contract and grant activities, not limited to monthly reconciliations. She oversees all cost transfers, including expense and salary transfers. Overall responsibility for the successful completion and submission of all proposals – including hands-on budget preparation, works in close cooperation with the Office of Contracts and Grants Administration (OCGA) and Extramural Fund Management Office (EFM). Her interests lies in the internet of everything and the design, implementation of turnkey renewable energy systems in rural and semi-urban areas in the country.
