SMERC to help solve first UCLA Grand Challenge

UCLA created a series of "Grand Challenges" in response to a challenge issued by the White House in April 2013. The first Grand Challenge Project is "Thriving in a Hotter Los Angeles: Achieving 100% Sustainability in Energy, Water and Ecosystem Health by 2050." Rajit Gadh, director of the UCLA Smart Grid Energy Research Center (SMERC), is leading research in smart grid technologies that can change the way we consume energy.
