Alex Capecelatro
CEO, Josh.ai

Alex Capecelatro is the founder and CEO of Josh.ai, a voice controlled home automation system with a focus on artificial intelligence. Josh.ai utilizes a proprietary natural language understanding (NLU) engine with state of the art home control integrations for a powerful smart home experience. Alex started his career as a research scientist for NASA, the Naval Research Lab, and later Sandia National Laboratory. He then ventured into consumer technology first with electric car manufacturer Fisker Automotive, then through founding two social software products "At The Pool" and "Yeti" with members in more than 120 countries. Alex's focus is at the intersection of elegant design, cutting-edge software, and purposeful hardware to offer transformational experiences. Alex received his engineering degree from UCLA and currently splits his time between LA and Denver.

Alex Nascimento, MA, MBA is a board member of UCLA Business and Management Executive Education Program Marketing and Advertising Advisory Board. Alex got his MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management and is a Faculty and Co-founder of the UCLA Blockchain Lab where he lectures on Blockchain Business Applications, Green Marketing Strategy, Writing for Marketing & Advertising, Branding Strategy, and Global Marketing Strategy among other courses. As an entrepreneur and thought leader in strategy, Mr. Nascimento has developed strategies for Red Bull, WPP Group, Warner Music Group, Polo Ralph Lauren, Honda, Yamaha, Smirnoff and Coca-Cola, among other prominent brands in the United States, Latin America and Asia.

Ankur Mehta
Assistant Professor, Electrical & Computer Engineering

Prof. Ankur Mehta is an assistant professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at UCLA, and directs the Laboratory for Embedded Machines and Ubiquitous Robots (LEMUR). Pushing towards his visions of a future filled with robots, his research interests involve printable robotics, rapid design and fabrication, control systems, and multi-agent networks.

Prof. Mehta received the NSF CAREER award in 2018, and was named a Samueli Fellow in 2015. He has received best paper awards in the 2015 IEEE Robotics & Automation Magazine and 2014 International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS).

Market Manager, Bikes & Scooters, Los Angeles, Lyft

As Lyft Bikes & Scooters Market Manager in Los Angeles, David oversees local scooter and bike operations, balancing operational, marketing, business, community, and public policy needs. Previously, David managed the operations, strategy, and P&L for Lyft's XL, Lux, Lux Black, and Lux Black XL business lines. Prior to Lyft, David was based in LA, working at Sony Pictures in Business Development & Strategic Planning, and previously at management consulting firm L.E.K. Consulting. He received his MBA from the Harvard Business School and holds his MS and BS in Management Science & Engineering from Stanford University. David is a Los Angeles native, and has spent most of his life in the West LA area.

Felix Naveen Singh
Head of Robotics Autonomy Systems and Software QA Engineering, Brain Corp

Felix is a technologist with a passion for solving problems, building high performance teams for shipping products that connect and improve people's lives. He currently oversees Systems and Software QA at Brain Corporation - a San Diego based company creating transformative core technologies for today's autonomous robotic solutions. Prior to joining Brain, for over 12 years, Felix was Qualcomm's global head of QA, Automation and Commercialization for Snapdragon mobile multimedia technologies, IOT products and Automotive solutions. His experience include working on advanced mobile technologies, building and leading teams in North America, India and China for launching products and turnkey platform solutions. He received his MBAs from UCLA Anderson School of Management & NUS Singapore, MSEE from Wichita State University and BSEE in Electronics and Telecommunications from University of Mysore. He lives in San Diego.

Jennifer Myers
Senior Director of Deep Learning Frameworks, Intel AI products group

Jennifer Myers is Senior Director of Engineering within Intel's Artificial Intelligence Products Group. Her team develops the Open Source deep learning compiler, nGraph, which optimizes AIPG's dedicated inference and training AI hardware for TensorFlow and other popular frameworks. She joined Intel via their acquisition of Nervana Systems in 2016. Prior to Nervana Systems, Jennifer has had a 20 year career leading software engineering teams building solutions for search, ads, communication services, video compression and streaming. Jennifer holds a Ph.D. in Computational Neuroscience, in which she built a neural network model of human movement control, and got her B.S. from Carnegie Mellon University.

JJ Espinoza
Former Director of Data Science, 20th Century Fox

JJ is a former Director of Data Science at 20th Century Fox where he worked on deep learning based recommendations systems featured in a Google Blog Post: How 20th Century Fox Uses ML to Predict Movie Audiences. Prior to 20th Century Fox he was a Director of Advanced Analytics at NBCUniversal and a Manager of Data Science at the Walt Disney Company. In 2018 he published two academic papers based on his artificial intelligence work on computer vision based and recommendation systems.

He is a patented inventor of a computer vision based real estate investing system and co-founder and Chief Data Scientist at PropertyBot, a company that uses Machine Learning and computer vision to acquire and rehability real estate properties.

He is a well-rounded leader equally comfortable giving senior executive briefings (EVP, SVP, CMO), managing teams of data scientists & engineers, or building machine learning pipelines/econometric models using Python, Linux, SQL, and R hosted on cloud technologies

JJ graduated from UCLA with a BS in Mathematics and BA in Economics and went on to earn his MS in Economics from CSUF.

SVP AI Strategy & Innovation, Software AG

Dr. Michael Zeller leads Software AG's innovation in artificial intelligence. His vision is to help organizations deepen and accelerate insights from big data through the power of machine learning. Previously he was CEO and Co-Founder of Zementis, a leading provider of software solutions for predictive analytics. Michael also serves on the Board of Directors of Tech San Diego, as Secretary/Treasurer on the Executive Committee of ACM SIGKDD, the premier international organization for data science, and he is Advisory Board Member at Analytics Ventures, a venture studio fund dedicated to creating and building companies that harness the power of artificial intelligence (AI).

Director, UCLA Smart Grid Energy Research Center (SMERC) and Connected Autonomous Electric Vehicle (CAEV) Consortium

Dr. Rajit Gadh is a Professor at the Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science at UCLA, and the Founding Director of the *UCLA Smart Grid Energy Research Center* or *SMERC*. He is also Founder and Director of the *Connected and Autonomous Electric Vehicle* or *CAEV*.

Dr. Gadh's research interests include Smart Grid, Electric Vehicles (EV), EV-Grid Integration, Renewable-integration, Distributed Energy Resources, Autonomous Vehicles, Artificial Intelligence, Wireless sensors and RFID, and IOT, . He has over 200 papers in journals, conferences and technical magazines, and several patents granted.

He has a Doctorate degree from Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), a Masters from Cornell University and a Bachelor's degree from IIT Kanpur. He has taught as a visiting researcher at UC Berkeley, has been an Assistant, Associate and Full Professor at University of Wisconsin-Madison, and did his sabbatical as a visiting researcher at Stanford University for a year. He has won several awards from NSF (CAREER award, Research Initiation Award, NSF-Lucent Industry Ecology Award, GOAL-I award), SAE (Ralph Teetor award), IEEE (second best student-paper, WTS), ASME (Kodak Best Technical Paper award), AT&T (Industrial ecology fellow award), Engineering Education Foundation (Research Initiation Award), William Wong Fellowship award from University of Hong-Kong, etc., and other accolades in his career. He is on the Editorial board of ACM Computers in Entertainment Publication and the CAD Journal.

Rick is currently the Chief Information Officer for the Milken Institute, a non-partisan think tank connecting people and organizations focused on solutions to persistent global challenges. Past experience includes CIO and head of technology roles at The Brookings Institution, The Westfield Group, and Caruso Affiliated. Rick also led a software business unit for a Silicon Valley-based tech company.

Rick earned an MS in Technology for Business from Johns Hopkins University and received a BS in Finance from California State University. He was awarded professional certificates from Cornell University and the MIT Sloan School of Business.

Rick acts as a Strategic Advisor to Virtual Trauma Solutions, and has participated on various academic research steering committees and non-profit boards.

Vandana (Ana) Mangal
Former Executive Director of Easton Technology Management Center, UCLA Anderson School of Management

Dr. Vandana (Ana) Mangal has experience in research, teaching and academic leadership in Higher Education. At UCLA Anderson, she was instrumental in building a platform with students, faculty and alumni for technology leadership. The platform has resulted in ten-fold growth in the student base, revenue generation and engagement of the Silicon Valley and Silicon Beach communities that has made the school a visible leader in tech leadership education. She is currently working in data and AI and, studying disruption in the mobility sector. She has served on the board of the UCLA IS Associates, UCLA Extension TMP and the Women's Initiative Network (WIN). Before UCLA, Dr Mangal worked in big tech (Intel Corp) and consulting (AE Business Solutions). She has taught at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She received her PhD from Carnegie Mellon University and her undergraduate degree is in Electrical Engineering.
