On Friday, February 3, 2017, a delegation from Turkey visited UCLA's Smart Grid Energy Research Center that included Fikret Akbas - General Manager (ARAS Distribution System Operator), Ridvan Akturk - General Manager (YESILIRMAK Distribution System Operator), Omer Faruk Gultekin - Vice President of the Executive Board (ENERJISA Distribution System Operator), Zafer Turut - General Manager (OSMANGAZI Distribution System Operator).
 The delegation toured the SMERC lab after a discussion on various topics such as ADR, Battery & Storage, Renewable Integration, Cyber Security, and Interoperability with the center's director, Dr. Rajit Gadh.
