With rapid innovations in the transportation industry, the infrastructure to support these technologies are still in the early stages of development. On June 2, 2017, SMERC hosted the Autonomous and Electric Vehicle Technology, Grid and Communications Infrastructure in a Smart City. This first technical workshop bough together UCLA faculty and researchers to discuss the challenges, opportunities and technologies that are being developed and that need to be developed in the future.
