Electric Vehicles and Autonomous Vehicles
a joint event organized by UCLA and Shanghai Jiaotong University

Introduction to UCLA CAEV:
Connected Autonomous Electric Vehicle or CAEV is a UCLA lead consortium whose members consist of modern age automotive companies, electric and autonomous transportation providers and electric power companies that are modernizing the automotive industry into one that is electric, digital, connected, smart, autonomous, and serves the transportation and energy needs of society for the 21st Century and beyond. If you would like to get information on how to partner with or join CAEV, please email caev@smartgrid.ucla.edu.

Purpose of CAEV is to create a partnership between UCLA and Electric Vehicle (EV) and Autonomous Vehicle (AV) manufacturers as well as new energy companies that advance technology, create innovative business models, and, educate and train the next generation of engineers and managers to create a global industry that will change the face of the automotive sector worldwide.

Today, the EV and AV sectors are rapidly become globalized from market, technology and manufacturing perspectives. In recent years, two of the world's biggest markets for electric vehicles are USA and China. Therefore, UCLA CAEV is co-organizing this event with the local lead institution and host, Shanghai Jiaotong University (SJTU), based in China. The purpose of this event is to develop a global learning and information exchange forum that will eventually lead to further advancements in research and technology worldwide.

UCLA and SJTU would be hosting the Event on Friday, June 28, 2019 at SJTU.

Outcomes:
A detailed report of the discussions and collaboration opportunities would be developed and shared with all the attendees as well as partners of the two academic institutions - UCLA (CAEV, SMERC, ESmart) and SJTU
