Alexandre Nunes
Director - Vehicle Attributes, NIO

Alexandre Nunes is Director for Vehicle Attributes at NIO. He has joined NIO since 2015 and participated in the concept, development and launch of ES8 and ES6. Responsible for NVH, vehicle dynamics, thermal, drive quality, aerodynamics, tightness, energy and durability, the attributes of dynamic driving experience and efficiency. He has Bachelor's Degree in Physics, Master's Degree in Acoustics and working with vehicle performance development for 25 years. His motivation started with sound quality in musical instruments and cars that eventually expanded to full driving experience, connecting human perception, engineering metrics and design solutions. Previously, worked 18 years for a major global OEM, mostly inside NVH and Vehicle Performance. He has developed and launched over 30 vehicle projects for several different markets. During this period, Alexandre also contributed to the automotive technical development with 23 papers / technical presentations in specialized forums.

He's a believer of making a better mobility experience through smart and elegant engineering solutions.

Bernd Pichler
Chief Marketing Officer, ICONIQ MOTORS

Chief Marketing Officer, ICONIQ MOTORS Having spent 12 years in the German Army and Air Force as officer, Bernd Pichler continued to experience 20 years in Volkswagen and Jaguar Land Rover in senior leadership roles like CFO, Sales EVP and General Manager. In January 2018 he started in ICONIQ Motors as CMO, readying the EV start-up to become a globally recognized brand. The graduated economist and EMBA spent the last 14 years in China, working successfully within WFOEs and Joint Ventures in market leading positions (TOP5). He married, has four children and is proficient in 4 languages.

Founder & CEO, Automobility Limited

Bill Russo is the Shanghai-based Founder and CEO of Automobility Limited, a strategy and investment advisory firm helping its clients to create the future of mobility. His over 35 years of experience includes 15 years as an automotive executive, including 14 years of experience in China and Asia. He has also worked nearly 12 years in the electronics and information technology industries. He has worked as an advisor and consultant for numerous multinational and local Chinese firms in the formulation and implementation of their global market and product strategies. Bill is also currently serving as the Chair of the Automotive Committee at the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai.

In his current role, Bill advises start-ups, corporations and investors on how to maximize their participation in China's Automobility Revolution. In order to achieve success, he believes they must expand their focus from the product (the automobile) to the utility derived from the product ("automobility"), and create a business model and digital ecosystem optimized to provide digitally enabled solutions for both car owners and mobility services users.

Bill was previously the regional head of Chrysler in North East Asia, where he successfully negotiated agreements with partners and obtained required approvals from the China government to bring six new vehicle programs to the market in a three-year period, while concurrently establishing an infrastructure for local sourcing and sales distribution.

Mr. Russo has a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Columbia University in New York, and a Master of Science in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Mr. Russo is a highly sought after opinion leader on the development of the China market and the automotive industry.

Global President, Borgward

Bringing together their expertise in mobility services, digital technology and quality car manufacturing, UCAR and Borgward have created a unique strategic alliance.

Senior Director, Vehicle Integration and Advanced Engineering, NIO

Danilo graduated in Mechanical Engineering at Politecnico di Torino. Working at Italdesign Giugiaro (currently part of VW group) for 9 years, as chief of Vehicle Concept he got to work on the Engineering and Architecture of such prestigious cars as Lamborghini, Ferrari, Maserati, Alfa, Audi, and others.

In 2010 his adventure in China started from Qoros, where he covered the role of Director of Vehicle Concept and Advanced Engineering for 5 years. After this, he finally landed in NIO, where he currently occupies the position of Senior Director of Vehicle Integration and Advanced Engineering, working between Shanghai, where he leads his 250 people VI team, and Oxford, where he directs NIO UK ACE team.

Danilo Teobaldi

Donghan Feng
Professor, Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU)

Prof. Dr. Feng has been with the faculty of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) since 2008, where he currently is a full professor. Prof. Dr. Feng also serves as the Deputy Director of the State Energy Smart Grid Research and Development Center, Shanghai, China. He was a Graduate Research Assistant with Tsinghua University from 2005 to 2006, a Visiting Scholar with the University of Hong Kong from 2006 to 2007, a Hans Christened φrsted Postdoc with Technical University of Denmark, Lyngby, Denmark, from 2009 to 2010, and a Visiting Research Scholar with the University of California, Berkeley, USA, from 2015 to 2016.

Prof. Dr. Feng is the recipient of the Pujiang Scholar of Shanghai, the Morningstar Excellent Young Faculty Award of SJTU, and the Future Scientist Program of China Scholarship Council, Ministry of Education of China.

His research interests include spot pricing in smart energy networks, electricity market design, and coordinated charging of electric vehicles under renewable penetration.

Dwight Brown leads a team of passionate and diverse innovators at General Motors China as the Director of Product Portfolio Planning. This group helps guide the future success of the company by enacting solid business proposals for new products (vehicle and propulsion systems.) His team has expertise in customer insights, demand forecasting, competitive intelligence, and strategy.

Previously, Dwight served as the director of Global Electric and Autonomous Vehicle planning and the director of GM's Global Technology Planning group. In the past, Dwight held various roles in automotive including: engineering, program management, brand & regional planning, and public policy across the USA, Europe, and China.

Dwight is a patent holder and a trained design thinking instructor from Stanford University's design school. Dwight also earned an MBA and a Mechanical Engineering Degree in the USA.

Frank Wu
Director of Design Global Senova/LITE/BJEV, BAIC Group

Frank is the director of design for BAIC Group's Senova and BJEV brand. As brand design director, he and his team are working to transform the next generation of automotive design for the Chinese mass market. Frank manage and directs day to day design operation with a collaborative team of designers from Exterior, Interior, HMI, Color & Trim and Component design for all future Senova and BJEV product line. Currently, Frank is also an adjunct professor for automotive design at the China Central Academy of Fine Arts. Previously Frank was the lead designer at Cadillac, General Motors where he worked on multiple leading projects including the award winning all new Cadillac CT6 flagship, Cadillac advanced BEV, as well as the Cadillac Escala concept car. He was also professor of transportation design at the world renowned design school College for Creative Studies located in Detroit, Michigan.

Harry is the Creative Director of Automotive Design at BMW Designworks Shanghai, leading BMW design projects in greater China region. He leads a team full of versatile designers with expertise in automotive design, design and brand strategy, design language, contextual research, insight formulation, 3D CAS modeling and 3D visualization. As a Chinese American who's spent more than 9 years living and working in different parts of China, Harry has been a part of the country's rapid growth and transformation.

Before joining BMW Harry worked at 2 startup companies and continues to carry forth the spirit and tenacity of the startup culture.

His creative philosophy is simple: "We absorb, we provoke, we create, and we deliver."

CTO/SVP of Modern Auto Company. Member of China SAE, IAENG, and CAA; Member of China National Standard Committee for many national standards. Responsible for the company's Hybrid and NEV vehicle powertrain, HCU, Battery Thermal management, and BMS development. Holds 38 China and US patents. Held various positions as Engineer, Manager, Director, and VP in Ford Motor Company, Magna International, SAIC Motor, ATBS Battery, BAIC Motor and Geely Motor Company.

Managing Director, Advanced Sustainability Institute

Founder of the Advanced Sustainability Institute, dedicated to thought leadership, demonstration, and entrepreneurship in new energy and cleantech, Mr. Boehm is an entrepreneur, consultant and educator in the sustainability space. He serves as Executive Director for the Advanced Transportation Center, Industry Liaison for UCLA's Smartgrid Energy Research Center, and consultant to its EVSE spin off MOEV, and has assisted AeroVironment, Trexa, LADWP, GenOn, LAANE, SaveMe, Sempra and Toyota in their new energy and Electric Vehicle endeavors. He also served as CEO of Solar Energy Development International - an early developer of solar concentrator technology. Mr. Boehm is the Executive Director of the E4 Advanced Transportation Center, coordinating regional efforts toward developing a cleantech industry sector. Educated at Northwestern University and Stanford Graduate School of Business, Michael has taught sustainability in programs at Darden School of Business, UCLA, and the University of santa Clara. Mr. Boehm serves as board member and chairman of the German American Business Association, Southern California, CleanTech and Sustainability Industry Group, co-chair of the Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation E4-Mobility Alliance, and is an advisor to LA's Clean Tech incubator.

Project Lead, UCLA Connected Autonomous Electric Vehicle (CAEV), Smart Grid Energy Research Center (SMERC), Energy for a Smart Grid Consortium (ESmart)

Dr. Chu is currently a project lead at Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science at University of California at Los Angeles. He is the system architect and principal engineer at UCLA Smart Grid Energy Research Center (SMERC), ESmart and Connected Autonomous Electric Vehicle (CAEV) consortium. He is a senior research manager who supervised and steered multiple industry and academia research projects in the field of Smart Grid, Autonomous Electric Vehicle and Renewable Energy Integration, Micro Grid System, Sensor Network, RFID technologies, Mobile Communication, Media Entertainment, 3D/2D Visualization of scientific data and Computer Aided Design. He has over 17 years of experience in research & development of software architectures, frameworks and solutions and has delivered multiple project solutions and software packages to the industry globally.

Dr. Chu is also as a forum convener at the center and he assembled and hosted more than 35 internationally renowned forums and conferences. He leads active research collaboration projects with companies such Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, Southern California Edison, California Energy Commission, Siemems, Qualcomm, Motorola, HP, Raytheon, Maersk, Northrop Grumman, Intel. He has 4 patents attributed under his name and published more than 60 papers in professional engineering and scientific journals, books, and conference proceedings. He received one Best Paper Award in Excellence for Applied Research at 2004 Wireless Telecommunications Symposium. He publishes papers focus on Smart Grid, Electrical Vehicle Integration, Micro Grid system, RFID research and was invited to author one chapter in a book - "Mobile, Wireless and Sensor Networks: Technology, Applications and Future Directions" John Wiley publication.

Director, UCLA Connected Autonomous Electric Vehicle (CAEV), Smart Grid Energy Research Center (SMERC), Energy for a Smart Grid Consortium (ESmart)

Dr. Rajit Gadh is a Professor at the Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science at UCLA, and the Founding Director of the *UCLA Smart Grid Energy Research Center* or *SMERC*. He is also Founder and Director of the *Connected and Autonomous Electric Vehicle* or *CAEV*.

Dr. Gadh's research interests include Smart Grid, Electric Vehicles (EV), EV-Grid Integration, Renewable-integration, Distributed Energy Resources, Autonomous Vehicles, Artificial Intelligence, Wireless sensors and RFID, and IOT, . He has over 200 papers in journals, conferences and technical magazines, and several patents granted.

He has a Doctorate degree from Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), a Masters from Cornell University and a Bachelor's degree from IIT Kanpur. He has taught as a visiting researcher at UC Berkeley, has been an Assistant, Associate and Full Professor at University of Wisconsin-Madison, and did his sabbatical as a visiting researcher at Stanford University for a year. He has won several awards from NSF (CAREER award, Research Initiation Award, NSF-Lucent Industry Ecology Award, GOAL-I award), SAE (Ralph Teetor award), IEEE (second best student-paper, WTS), ASME (Kodak Best Technical Paper award), AT&T (Industrial ecology fellow award), Engineering Education Foundation (Research Initiation Award), William Wong Fellowship award from University of Hong-Kong, etc., and other accolades in his career. He is on the Editorial board of ACM Computers in Entertainment Publication and the CAD Journal.

Sean is currently Scoot Network's Asia-based Vehicle Program Manager. His role ranges from exploring new electric vehicles to include in Scoot's global fleets, production and delivery of vehicles, to partner and supplier relations management.

Prior to Scoot, Sean was a part of Patisco.com, a SaaS startup building cloud-based software for Taiwan's manufacturing industry. This was where and when Sean first came in touch with electric vehicles as he spent working closely with electric motor, electric bike, and electric scooter makers.

Sean received his undergrad diploma from Shanghai Jiao Tong University's Antai College of Management and Economics. Throughout his college years, he interned at various companies such BMW and SinoComposite; where he worked on projects ranging from High-speed rail, electric buses, and cars.

Chief Engineering UX, GEELY EV

Stefan Hertel is the HMI Chief Engineer for the electric vehicles of the Geely Automobile Group. He is creating natural User Interfaces for the next generation of cars. Passionate about new technology he strives to make it accessible for all kind of users, from novice to expert. With is background in Computer Science and over 10 years of experience as a software engineer for user interfaces, he knows both sides. The technical boundaries and the user's expectations in a modern car.

Stefan Krause
CEO, Canoo

Over the past 30 years, Stefan has held key positions at the world's most recognizable automotive and financial services blue chip companies.

In his two-decade career at BMW, he held roles in engineering, sales, marketing, and financial services in both Germany and the U.S.

In 2002, he became BMW's youngest-ever Global CFO and Member of the Board of Management. He held that position until 2008. During his tenure, he also served as CEO of Rolls Royce, a BMW subsidiary, and was closely involved with the re-launch of the iconic MINI Brand. He was also vice chairman of the BMW Brilliance joint venture in China.

After leaving BMW, he became Global CFO at Deutsche Bank, where he was also on the Managing Board for eight years. At Deutsche, he was also head of the Supervisory Board for both, BHF Bank and Post Bank. He also was responsible to complete The Cosmopolitan Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

After leaving Deutsche Bank, he became a member of the Supervisory Board of Rocket Internet SE, a Berlin firm that incubates and invests in technology companies.

Furthermore, he was a senior advisor to Warburg Pincus. Before founding Canoo, Stefan was the CFO and COO at Faraday Future, a Los Angeles startup that develops intelligent electric vehicles. At Canoo, he is the chief executive and "In Charge" of the entire global organization.

He has lived in Colombia, the U.S., Japan, Germany, and the United Kingdom. He speaks English, German and Spanish fluently.

With 5+ years of experience in the automotive industry, I have gained expertise within engineering, strategy and management related projects around electric vehicles, connected cars and autonomous drive technologies. Being based in China, it is here where new energy vehicles and mobility solutions show their biggest momentum.

At BYTON we are aiming to redefine the automotive user experience as we know it today, by creating smart electric cars which are seamlessly connected in an innovative eco-system of digital services - A "smartphone on wheels". My team and I are creating the strategic framework for a China-based start-up company with the ambition one day to be a global player.
